Expo Animal concluded another edition this Sunday, welcoming around 20,000 visitors to Forum Braga over two days. Organised by InvestBraga, the event once again established itself as a leading meeting point for breeders, professionals, families and animal lovers, strengthening its national and international profile and reinforcing the importance of investing in a diverse programme designed for different audiences.

The 2026 edition was marked by an increase in the number of exhibitors, with the exhibition area bringing together 58 exhibitors, as well as strong public participation in the competitions and the various activities held throughout the weekend. Another highlight was the attendance of around 5,000 children, a figure that underlines the family-oriented nature of the event.

For Luís Rodrigues, Executive Board Member of InvestBraga, the results achieved confirm the relevance of Expo Animal and its ability to continue attracting diverse audiences.

“Expo Animal has once again demonstrated its ability to attract thousands of people to Forum Braga, bringing together families, breeders, professionals and animal lovers in the same space over two days. It is precisely this diversity of audiences that makes the event so special and reinforces its importance in our calendar of fairs. Our assessment is very positive, not only because of the level of attendance, but also because of the quality of the programme and the continued confidence placed in us by exhibitors and partners,” he highlights.

The competitive component once again played a central role at Expo Animal, with canine and feline competitions bringing together national and international participants and judges. A total of 104 awards were presented in the national and international canine competitions and 64 awards in the feline competitions.

According to the InvestBraga representative, “the quality of the animals entered in the competitions and the international dimension of the events are factors that enhance Expo Animal and contribute to raising its profile.”

“We had a record number of cats in competition and a highly qualified field of participants, accompanied by an extraordinary level of public attendance at the competitions. These indicators show that this is an event capable of meeting the expectations of specialist audiences while retaining its ability to attract visitors looking for a different family experience,” he adds.

The diversity of the programme was once again one of the distinguishing features of Expo Animal, combining its competitive component with demonstrations, educational activities and opportunities to interact with and discover the animal world.

“We want Expo Animal to be much more than an animal exhibition. We want it to be a space for experiences, learning and awareness-raising, particularly among younger generations. The strong presence of children and families shows that we are succeeding in achieving this ambition, making the fair an event with an increasingly relevant social and educational dimension,” adds Luís Rodrigues.

With another edition now concluded, Expo Animal strengthens its position in the Forum Braga events calendar, establishing itself as an initiative that combines the appreciation of the animal world with the promotion of family, educational and social experiences.
