Holy Week
The Holy Week in Braga is one of the biggest religious tourist attractions in the country and in the north of Spain. It takes place every year around Easter and for a week a set of cultural and religious demonstrations are held, for example, processions.
This event aims to commemorate the mysteries of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ and features moments such as the Procession of Senhor Ecce Homo, Procession of Nossa Senhora da Burrinha, and the Procession of the Passion. There are also cultural animation, concerts and shows.
One of the main icons of this event is the Farricocos, figures dressed in black who walk barefoot and show only their eyes.
