Braga Welcomes 2025 with a Solidarity Event
The Municipality of Braga, in partnership with InvestBraga, welcomed 2025 with a solidarity event that gathered around six thousand participants at the Forum Braga pavilion. The Solidarity New Year's Eve aimed primarily to support the Centro Novais e Sousa, raising a total of 20,000 euros, which will be directed towards enhancing the institution's services and support provided to the community.
The night’s program featured a selection of renowned artists, including a standout performance by Fernando Daniel, who captivated the audience with his most iconic hits, and the band The Delorean, which brought timeless international music classics to the celebration. After midnight, the entertainment continued into the early hours with the RFM Time Machine Show, led by the REVENGE team and DJs Rich & Mendes, offering a highly dynamic and energetic musical experience that kept the Braga audience entertained until 5:30 AM.
“This was an extraordinary night, where the spirit of celebration was combined with social responsibility. It was possible to raise a significant amount, which will directly contribute to the important work carried out by the Centro Novais e Sousa,” highlighted Carlos Silva, executive administrator of InvestBraga.
The Centro Novais e Sousa, a branch of the Braga Daycare Association, is a Private Social Solidarity Institution (IPSS) located in Braga. It operates as a Center for Activities and Inclusion Empowerment (CACI), supporting over 60 adult users with mental disabilities. The institution promotes occupational activities, socio-cultural therapies, and personal and social development programs. Since 2012, the association has been working towards the construction of a Residential Home for its users, aiming to provide a safe and suitable environment for their needs. This project, estimated at around two million euros, includes the renovation of the current facilities to integrate the CACI and the future Residential Home, with a capacity for 30 users.
Soon, the raised amount from the ticket sales will be delivered to the Centro Novais e Sousa.
This Solidarity New Year's Eve highlights the commitment of the Municipality of Braga and InvestBraga to promoting initiatives that, in addition to offering moments of fellowship and celebration, have a positive impact on the local community. The success of this edition reinforces the intention to continue organizing similar events in the coming years.
